Popular children's channel to expand operation and programs

31 December 2010 Nickelodeon is in talks with central and eastern-European countries’ television program makers, while in the US, new series will debut on the channel.

The channel’s parent company, MTV Networks is working on expanding Nickelodeon’s European coverage, and broadcasting the high-definition channel of the portfolio, MTVNHD through local service providers in Switzerland, Poland and Malta. This channel provides music and reality programs as well as live action for children in HD quality

Besides exploring new ground, Nickelodeon plans to start new series as well: it decided to put on screen the follow-up for Avatar, The Legend of Korra in 2011. (BBJ)
